Internship program

Get on a robot. Ship something real.

Rolling applications across robotics, AI, hardware, and cloud. Hands-on work with ROZOR robots at our Hamilton lab, full-time or part-time, 2 to 12 months, on-site or select remote. We review every application against active project needs.

How it runs

Project-based work on real ROZOR systems.

Internships are integrated into active engineering teams. You contribute to the same systems, tools, and workflows the rest of the team uses every day, not parallel "intern projects" that never ship.

Rolling
Applications

We review applications throughout the year and contact candidates whose background fits an active opportunity.

2 / 4 / 8 / 12
Months

Choose the duration that fits your program, short summer windows or longer co-op terms both work.

FT / PT
Schedule

Full-time or part-time, depending on the role and your availability during the term.

ON · Remote
Location

Most tracks are based at our Ontario lab. Select ML and Cloud roles allow remote, including from Turkey and Qatar.

Tracks

Eight areas of focus, one program.

Pick one or several when you apply, we match against current project needs. Remote eligibility is assessed case-by-case and is not guaranteed.

On-site

Robotics Software & Autonomy

Build the navigation, planning, and decision-making layers that make ROZOR robots autonomous in real buildings.

On-site

Computer Vision & AI Perception

Train and ship the perception models that let our robots see, segment, and understand their environments.

Remote possible

Machine Learning & Robotics AI

Push the AI models behind autonomy and decision-making, research, train, evaluate, deploy.

On-site

Robot Learning (RL / IL)

Teach robots through reinforcement and imitation learning, in real and simulated environments.

On-site

Embedded Systems

Work on firmware and low-level interfaces that connect software to motors, sensors, and actuators.

On-site

Robotics Hardware / Mechatronics

Design, prototype, and validate the mechanical and electrical systems that power ROZOR robots.

Remote possible

Cloud & Fleet Management

Build the cloud and backend systems that orchestrate ROZOR robots across deployments.

On-site

QA / Field Testing (Robotics)

Take robots from the lab to the field, design test plans, run trials, report what breaks.

What you'll do

Build, test, deploy. Repeat.

The exact mix depends on your track and current projects. Most interns touch several of these in a single term.

  • Develop autonomy, perception, AI, or cloud-based systems
  • Run experiments with ROZOR robots in lab and field environments
  • Collect, analyze, and validate real operational data
  • Test, debug, and evaluate performance under real conditions
  • Build internal tooling, prototypes, or experimental features
  • Collaborate across hardware, software, and cloud teams
  • Contribute to documentation, test workflows, and deployment prep
Who should apply

Background matters. Curiosity matters more.

Prior industry experience is not required. Strong applicants tend to share a few common signals.

Background

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from

  • Robotics
  • Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Mechatronics
Plus, the basics
  • Curious, motivated, and eager to learn
  • Interested in applied, real-world robotics systems
  • Comfortable in hands-on, iterative development environments
Preferred (assets)

Helpful but not required

Anything below moves your application up the list, but missing items doesn't disqualify you. Show us what you've built.

  • Experience with Python and / or C++
  • Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2
  • Coursework or projects in machine learning or computer vision
  • Robotics clubs, competitions, or team projects
  • Linux, simulation tools, CAD, or data analysis
Mentorship & learning

Real mentorship, not check-the-box onboarding.

Direct mentorship

Paired with engineers and team leads who actively work on the systems you're contributing to.

Continuous feedback

Weekly check-ins, code reviews, and design discussions throughout the internship.

Production exposure

See how engineering decisions become real deployments, not just academic exercises.

Portfolio you can show

Leave with shipped code, validated experiments, or systems you can demo to anyone.

Future opportunities

Strong interns are sometimes considered for return internships or full-time roles, subject to business needs and performance, but participation in the program does not guarantee future employment.

How to apply

Three things, one email.

Send the items on the right to info@rozor.ai. Due to application volume, only candidates selected for further consideration will be contacted.

  1. 1

    Resume

A current CV with relevant coursework, projects, and any prior experience.

  2. 2

    A short note

Tell us your areas of interest, preferred track(s), location, and availability. A few sentences is fine.

  3. 3

    Optional, what you've built

Portfolio, GitHub, papers, demo videos, anything that shows what you can do beyond your resume.
